The Merchandiser Assistant will support the mission, vision, and values established by the Board of Directors by assisting in daily and monthly grain accounting functions.
A high school diploma/GED and four years of grain industry experience
Solid practical accounting, analytical and organizational skills, strong communication skills, (both verbal and written), and strong documentation skills are required
Knowledge of position reporting, including the ability to interpret position data/reports, and proficiency with spreadsheet and word-processing software (e.g. Excel and MS Word), are required
Knowledge of grain industry practices, terminology and settlement processes, careful attention to detail, and the ability to work in an active and fast-paced department are all preferred

Description of Duties:
Responsible for daily scale activity
Responsible for accurate ticket entry on a daily basis
Grain grading with timely communications to operations staff
Grain grading equipment Sate & Federal Regulations' compliance
Responsible for the daily application and processing of grain sales settlements
Responsible for incoming telephone calls
Enter data into One Weigh and AGRIS
Assist and support grain commodity system
Assist in monthly commodity closing process
Assist and support the development of policies and procedures
Support back up of Commodity Professional Accountant when absent
Support back up of Commodity Staff Accountant when absent
Support outside grain processing
Assist and support Merchandiser Manager
Communicate bids and market information to customers
Supports the daily truck logistics
Support the Commodity and Financial activity
Support all specific tasks assigned by the Commodity Professional Accountant
All other duties as assigned
